JOURNALE CHANNEL
Design Brief
This project requires creating an identity, branding and visually identifiable treatment of a potential new channel on subscription television, called ‘JOURNALE’. The channel identity design will be visually unified from TV screen, to print, to the digital and social environment. The channel needs to be visually unique and identifiable amongst its factual positioning channels, such as ABC, BIO, SBS and Nat Geo.
Design Concept
After researching communication history and theory, I applied the findings to my own design. The logo design incorporates destination and navigation arrow symbols, with the aim of illustrating that ‘JOURNALE’ helps audience broaden their horizons and explore uncharted territories. As for the use of colors, blue represents both the sky and the sea, and is associated with open spaces, freedom, imagination and inspiration. Yellow is a color associated with the sun which symbolizes energy, joy and happiness. ‘JOUNALE’ offers audience programs with rich knowledge and information, invoking them with a pleasurable experience. With this brand identity, ‘JOUNALE’ stands out amongst its competitors for its value — honest, authentic, intelligent and sophisticated.
Technical Skills
In addition to using Adobe Illustrator to create logo vectors and Adobe Photoshop to produce mockups, I also completed a branding presentation for the client.
